Answer:

⇒ 80% ( Expenditure )

Step-by-step explanation:

Percentage of monthly salary Anu saves = 40%

Percentage of increase in her salary = 25%

Say, Anu's salary is Rs. 1000.

Now,

Normally , she saves 40% of her salary i.e. :

⇒ 40 × 1% of total salary.

⇒ 40 × 10

⇒ Rs. 400

Also,

Amount of increase in her salary , i.e. :

⇒ 25 × 1% of total salary.

⇒ 25 × 10

⇒ Rs. 250

Now, new salary :

⇒Rs. 1000 + 250

⇒Rs. 1250

Also, Amount of her new savings, i.e. :

⇒ 20 × 1% of the new salary.

⇒ 20 × 12.5

⇒ Rs. 250

Finally, percentage increase in her expenditure , i.e. :

⇒ Rs. 1250 - 250 = 1000

⇒ 250 : 1250 = 1 : 5

20% ( savings, also given )

Then ,

⇒ 100% - 20%

80% ( Expenditure )
