Anusha, banu and esha run a running race of 100 meters. Anusha is the fastest followed by banu and then esha. Anusha, banu and esha maintain constant speeds during the entire race. When anusha reached the goal post, banu was 10m behind. When banu reached the goal post esha was 10m behind. How far was behind anusha when the latter reached the goal post. Option

Answer:

19 m behind Anusha

Explanation:

Anusha completed = 100 m

then Banu completed = 100 - 10 = 90 m

When Banu Completed = 100 m

then Esha Completed = 100 m - 10 = 90  m

Let say Esha Speed = 81x m/s

then Time taken to completed 90 m =  90/81x = 10/9x

Speed of Banu = 100/(10/9x) = 90x m/s

Banu Took time to complete 90 m  = 90/90x = 1/x

Ansush Speed = 100/(1/x) = 100x m/s

Esha Covered in 1/x =81x *1/x = 81 m

Esha was 100-81 = 19 m behind Anusha  when Anusha complete the race
