Given,

Anvar's savings = 200,250,300, ---

To find,

The month in which he will save Rs. 1000 and the total amount.

Solution,

The month in which he will save Rs. 1000 will be the 17th month and the total amount will be Rs. 10200.

We can easily solve this problem by following the given steps.

According to the question,

200,250,300, ---

So, the savings are increasing by Rs. 50 every month. Therefore, it becomes an A.P.

The first term (a) = 200

Common difference( d) = second term - first term

d = 250-200

d = 50

Now, we will first find the month in which Rs. 1000 will be saved.

So, we have an = 1000

The formula to find the nth term is:

an = a+(n-1)d

1000 = 200+(n-1)50

1000 = 200+50n-50

1000 = 150+50n

50n = 1000-150

50n = 850

n = 850/50

n = 17

Now, to find the total amount after 17 months we will use the following formula of the sum of all the terms in an A.P.

Sn = n/2 (a+l) where l is the last term or nth term

S17 = 17/2 (200+1000)

S17 = 17/2 (1200)

S17 = 17×600

S17 = 10200

Hence, the month in which he will save Rs. 1000 is the 17th month and the total amount is Rs. 10200.
