Path length(read:Distance) stands for the actual length of the path traversed by the body between the initial and final position.
On the other hand, Displacement is the shortest length i.e, straight line distance between the initial and final positions.
However, The "Path Length" and Displacement can be equal for a body in Rectilinear motion

Hello friend

Path length is distance not displacement.
Distance: Distance is the actual length or path between two position
Displacement: The shortest distance between two positions in a straight line is called displacement.
So , if the path is straight , distance = displacement ; and if the path is not straight, distance ≥ displacement.
