Planets don't have their own light. So they do not emit light. This phenomena goes back to their formation. When they are formed, they are much much less hotter than stars. In stars, fusion reaction always goes on, and thus energy, as well as light is formed. So, there is light for stars to emit for a long period

Stars are like fusion reactors.
In their core, hydrogen is constantly being fused into helium. This releases a lot of energy in the form of heat and light.
Planets don't do fusion, so they don't emit light. Thry just reflect light from other stars and look bright.
I'm not a genius, but I am pretty good at physics. So u can trust this answer.
