any obe plz help mr its emergency. (i) Consider a conductor of resistance ‘R’, length ‘L’, thickness‘d’ and resistivity ‘ρ’.

Now this conductor is cut into four equal parts. What will be the new resistivity of

each of these parts? Why?

(ii) Find the resistance if all of these parts are connected in:

(a) Parallel

(b) Series

(iii) Out of the combinations of resistors mentioned above in the previous part, for a

given voltage which combination will consume more power and why? . could u plz tell this with gud explanation.

resistivity will remain same.... as it doesn't depends upon length but on temperature

A piece of wire of resistance r is cut into 4 equal parts. So, each of this part will have resistance equal to r / 4. There are four parts of cut wire each with resistance equal to r / 4. Hence, the equivalent resistance of the combination when connected in parallel is r / 16

in series it will be 4r as r+r+r+r

series will consume more power cuz of high resistance
