Hey mate,
Interesting question BTW,
So,
We know,
= i^2
= i^6
= - 1
i = i^3
i^2 = 1
But we know,
i^2 = - 1
So equating the values,
Hence proved 1 = - 1
Hope this helps you out!

So before this we need to understand √-1=i(imaginary number)
so if you square both side then it will be like
√-1²=i² which is also equal to i²=-1
so now back to your question
there are going to be 6 steps
1)-1/1=1/-1
2)√-1/1=√1/-1
3)√-1/√1=√1/√-1 so as i said earlier √-1=i so
4)i/1=1/i
5)cross multiply
i²=1
as i said earlier i²=1 so it will be
6)-1=1
