each book cost is 125/-
so 40 books cost is 40*125=5000/-(without discount)
so the man Has 5000/-
if discount is applied
then
each book cost 100/-
so no. of books are 5000/100=50
so the man can buy 50books

(without discount)
cost of one book without discount=125-25=100
how many notebooks you can buy with discount of rs.25?
5000/100
=50
He can buy 50 notebooks.
