There are many stories about this Puja. It is said that God Ram had to fight with Ravana. Hence, Ram prayed to Goddess Durga. He was able to kill Ravana. Durga is the Goddess of Power. People are happy on the occasion of Durga Puja. This festival makes one happy. It is very big festival in our religion. People wear new clothes on this occasion. Children are most happy on this occasion because they don't have to go school and enjoy with their friends. It brings changes in everyone. We can say that it is very memorable festival. It is very greatest festival in West Bengal. Goddess Durga is the daughter of Himalaya and Menaka. It brings happiness and peace in the mind of people. This festival marks "victory of good over evil". At various Puja Pandals, the worship of mother Durga is being performed by the rich and the poor, with subscriptions raised for the purpose. Flowers and sweets are offered to them. People from all walks of life enjoy this festival. I enjoy this and love this festival very much.
