in 34 Hrs  tank will get filled

Step-by-step explanation:

emptying tap is fiited at (5/9)th height

Hence no emptying process will Start untill tank is 5/9 filled

filling tap which can fill the tank in 18 hours

(5/9)th tank will be filled in = (5/9) * 18  = 10 hrs

Tank remained to fill = 1 - 5/9  = 4/9

After 10 hrs both taps will be working

Filling tap can fill in 1 hr  = 1/18

Emptying tap can empty in 1 hr = 1/27

Together in 1 hr = 1/18 - 1/27

= ( 3 - 2)/54

= 1/54

1/54 tank will be filled  in  1 hr

Tank will be filled in 54 hrs

4/9 tank will be filled in = (4/9) * 54 = 24  Hrs

Total Time taken = 10 + 24  = 34  Hrs

in 34 Hrs  tank will get filled
