Various breeds of Indian cattle

Group of animals which are very similar to their ancestors but are obtained by inter crosses are called breeds . In India there is a total of 26 breeds of cattle which are divided into three groups, including :—

• milch/Diary breed :- it includes milk producing cows while Bullock are of low grade.

• drought breeds :- it includes good working bullocks but cows are low milk yielding.

• Dual purpose breeds :- it includes good milk producing cows whole bullocks are also hard working.
