Answer:

2 / 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator be x.

Thus denominator = x + 3

Hence, original fraction =

( x ) / ( x + 3 )

As given,

[ x ] / [ ( x ) + ( x + 3 ) ] = 2 / 7

( x ) / ( 2x + 3 ) = 2 / 7

7x = 2 ( 2x + 3 )

7x = 4x + 6

3x = 6

x = 2

Thus, x + 3 = 2 + 3 = 5

Therefore,

ANS = 2 / 5

Let denominator = x
Numerator = x-3

ATQ
X+X-3/x =2/7
2x-3/x=2/7
14x-21 = 2x
12x=21
X = 21/12

Denominator is 12/21
Numerator is (21/12)-3
=21-24/12
= -3/12
= -1/4
