AOB is a quadrant of a circle of radius 14 cm.from it an equlateral triangle OPQ is cut off .. calculate area of the shaded region

area of shaded region i.e. segment = area of quadrant - area of triangle

for this area of quadrant is

 \frac{1}{4} \pi {r}^{2}

by this area of quadrant is 154cm^2

the area of triangle is 1/2 base × height

i.e. 98 cm^2

so, the area of shaded part is 154-98 = 56 cm^2
