Fiber optics:

The field of science that is related to study of optical fibre are known as fibre optics. Optical fibre are transparent, flexible fibres are generally made of silica and have very thin diameter approximately same as human hair.

These fibre shows presence of two regions core and cladding. Core is the inner part and cladding is the outer part of optical fibre. The beam of light is transmitted through core by total internal reflection.

Application of optical fibre:

  • Internet: Optical fibre has large application in networking system. These cables transmit more data with very large speed. Optical fibre has overcome all drawbacks of copper wire.
  • Telephone: Using optical fibre communication has become very fas and clear. International calling has become very clear using optical fibre only.
  • Medicine: Optical fibres are widely used in the medicinal treatments. Endoscopy is a very common example of use of optical fibre in medicine.
  • Lighting: The lights now a days are using optical fibre for decoration because they are very cheap, flexible and easily usable.
  • Defense: Optical fibre are used for data transmission in army and air force.

HEYA MATE HERE U GO

OPTICAL FIBRE :-an optical fibre is very thin fibre made of glass /plastic having radius about a micrometer. a bunch of such thin fibres forms a light pipe.

APPLICATIONS OF OPTICAL FIBRE :-

. light pipes using optical fibres may be used to see places which are difficult to reach such as inside of a human body.

. the other important application of fibre optics is to transmit communication signals through light pipes.
