Saturated hydrocarbons are those hydrocarbons which have only single covalent bond in them. Alkanes are best example of saturated hydrocarbons. Saturated Hydrocarbons give off non-sooty blue flame when burnt . This because the percentage of carbon in then is generally than unsaturated hydrocarbons. Alkanes also make very good fuel.
