Dear Diary,
I had the most shocking experience today. I had been to Kolkata today for the inauguration of my Uncle's new factory. The workers of his two other factories came to greet him. To my utter surprise and horror I found most of them were children.
I immediately asked my uncle how could he hire children, wasn't it against the law. He laughed at my question and said I was still naive and dwelled in my own kingdom of Utopia.
He took me to an adjacent industrial complex that belonged to his friend. There too like little David Copperfield the children were working . My uncle said that if they didn't work they would not be able to survive as there was no food home.
I was really shell shocked. Did the days of the Chimney Sweepers return again to trouble the children in these 'Hard Times'.
I need to think what can be done. Will catch up with you later.
