Following are the three differences applied psychology:

1) The materials or tools that are required in basic psychology are created artificially and similarly the tasks are also created  by artificial means. However, in applied Psychology 'naturalistic' techniques are used for the same.

2) The problems or tasks are dealt on theoretical grounds in basic psychologywhereas only practical problems and needs are dealt with in applied psychology.

3) The standard goal of basic psychology is to refine the theory by using it prcatically. However, in applied psychology coming out with proper solutions to the problems is its main goal.
