This poem is written by Oliver wendell holmes.

In this poem Oliver wendell was a sober man . But one day he wrote some lines . And he thought the lines were really very humorous and people would appreciate those lines when they read that.

The servant of the poet was the first person to read the poem . But after reading a while he started laughing badly , and that became so horrible.

As his waistband broke into two halves. And poet observed his servant for around ten days.This results a very humorous momemt for author. Thats why The name of the poem is 'The height of Ridiculous '.
