(-3)^6 is more appropriate in writing as it clearly states that (-3) raise to power 6 which will alwayas give a positive number.

Whereas -3^6 can lead to confusion between the following two cases i.e. either it is (-3)^6 or -(3)^6 and we know that these both cases will give different values.

Hope it helps!!!
