Are all double displacement reactions precipitation reactions? Explain.

precipitation reaction is a type of reaction in which to soluble substances mix in aqueous solution and form an insoluble substance.

this tells us most of the perception reaction are placement reactions. but not double displacement.

It is not necessary for all double displacement reaction to be precipitation reaction.

For example:

NaOH+HCl--->NaCl+H_2O

It is example of Double displacement reaction.

From the reaction we can see clearly that the products produced are Sodium Chloride and water. And NaCl is soluble in water so there is no precipitation reaction.
