Are all the periodic motion harmonic or oscillatory

kanishka4776: the motion of the pendulum of a clock is s periodic as well as oscillatory the word oscillatory refers to something that moves back and forth repeatedly the word periodic refers to something that repeat after a regular amount of time.the motion of planet around the sun is always periodic but not oscillatory

No,because (i)revolution of planets are periodic but they are not oscillatory or harmonic , (ii) revolving of tyre is a periodic motion but not an oscillary or harmonic motion . thank you

gunguntyagi95: can you explain more?

here is your answer mate ↙️↙️✔️✔️✔️

Oscillatory motion is always periodic but a periodic motion may or may not be the oscillatery motion this is the main difference between oscillatory and periodic motion.

For Example = the motion of a pendulum is both oscillatory motion and periodic motion but the motion of the wheels of a car isonly periodic because the wheels rotate in a circular motion.

Hope this helps you mate all the best ✌✌✌
