Electioneering is costly in every democratic country. India being the largest democratic country the candidates need to spend a lot of money for transport,publicity and items of campaign. Initially it was costlier when the ideals of service and sacrifice were very much on the air. But scenario has changed. The expense have increased tremendously. The gap between the expense incurred and the legally permitted have increased.
