This Indicator varies according to one's requirement. From a Bowler's perspective, a dot ball represents no Run scored of the bat, and extras(byes & legbyes) are considered as dot balls, and error balls(no ball and wide) are not, as they are counted as runs, and gets added to their bowling figure.
