Civilization is being non barbaric, rule of law, societal norms and establishments. Gravely misunderstood as technological advancements.

A view to develooment says ita correlated to technology and that leads to prosperity which may eventually lead to happiness. As u can see there are a lot of probabilistic assumptions to it.

Earlier civilizations like indus valley, mesopotamia were not technologically like us yet they are called civilizations. The reason being their survival was not by feeding on animals or other species but a system of trade, commerce, law and order, rules being followed.

Prosperity does accompany technology provided there is equitable distribution. But there is no proportional relationship between technology and civilization. The nuclear race is an example of the uncouth tendency of annihilation and apparantly its a technological marvel...
