Speaker tags are required in most occasions to indicate who the speaker is. However, there are a few exceptions to this if the speaker is obvious. For example, if there is a conversation going on between two people, it becomes fairly obvious that the people are alternating. In such a case speaker tags can be removed. It can also be removed if you want to keep the speakers a suspense like in mystery tales.
