No the position of (5, ‐8) and (‐8, 5) is not same

on the first (5, ‐8) the 5 is on x axis and ‐8 is on y axis

on the second (‐8, 5 ) the ‐8 is on x axis and 5 is on y axis

No, the positions are not same.

For two positions to be same, there x and y coordinates must be same,

for example:

let (1,2) and (1,2) be two positions

since in both positions x coordinates is equal to 1

and y coordinate is equal to 2, so those two positions are equal.

While in the question, one position has x-coordinate = 5 and other has x-coordinate = -8. similarly one position has y-coordinate = -8 and other position has a y coordinate = 5. So, those two position are not equal.

Hope you understood. Have a good day :)
