Sometimes if marginalizing helps, one may stay out of unwarranted trouble. If that margin is not availed, one may be labeled as guilty of being an accomplice in a case.

There may be a set up where all over-clever and aggressive colleagues may break rules and do illegal acts. THE ONE PEACEFUL, POLISHED AND LAW-ABIDING GROUP MEMBER WILL HAVE EITHER TO QUIT OR STAY MARGINALIZED IN SUCH A WAY THAT THERE ARE NO SHREDS EXTENDED.

Hope it helps you :)

1) You are right. Generally, no one would like that to happen to any one. But there may be a few situations. Sometimes if marginalizing helps, one may stay out of unwarranted trouble. If that margin is not availed, one may be labeled as guilty of being an accomplice in a case.

I can think of the above situations at the moment.

2)Well there are times we dont always want to be on the frontline asit were, so, yes, It might be a good thing to be marginalised, if you dont want to be in the spotlight, you dont want unnecessary attention focused on you. I mean, look at these celebrities and politicians, Royalty, the remarksthat get said about them! not a good place to be. I would rather be in a more obscure, and be able to live my life in peace, as opposed to living in a goldfish bowl, where your every movement s are subject to scrutiny and criticism.

3)Marginalized
To relegate or confine to a lower or outer limit or edge, as of social standing.

Yes. The foremost being when one prefers to be marginalized. I know a number of folks, hiding out here in Volcano Village, that prefer to remove themselves, as best they can, from all forms of recognition and influence. I know one that will not allow the voice or image of Trump into her presence. Another doesn’t keep up with the news at all. They are content and it is their prerogative.

4) If they have victim mentality due to epigenetics or abuse or if they use the position of victim as a means of emotionally manipulating others. Another possibility is that this is what was modeled to them by their parents or by society. On a more existential and spiritual level, it could be that they have karmic debts that they are happily willing to pay off or they took an oath of poverty or marginalization in order to enhance their spiritual growth.

I hope it helps you!!!
