there are five states,they are
solid
liquid
gaseous
plasma

Matter is divided on 2 bases a)Physical &b)Chemical. On Physical bases matter is of 3 types =Solid,Liquid,Gases.But on Chemical bases they are =Homogeneous & Heterogeneous.And then So on so on.........
