Are these (what I have posted below) the correct definitions of a parsec?

1) One parsec is the distance from where the semi major axis of orbit of Earth subtends an angle of one second.
2) The distance that an object needs to be from Earth in order for it to have a parallax angle of one second is called a Parsec.
