Are viruses Prokaryotic or Eukaryotic ​

  • Viruses are neither Prokaryotic nor Eukaryotic, it is a link between living and non living.
  • It is because they are alive when they are inside the a living cell (body) but dead when outside the any living body.
  • Viruses have very few organelles, similar to the prokaryotic cells. They contain a plasma membrane, cell wall, RNA or DNA, and a protein capsule
  • Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells are alive, while viruses are not.
  • Prokaryote is a unicellular organism which lacks a cell membrane.
  • where as Eukaryotic are multicelluar.
