Well, First of all, Universe isn't a small place.

And as you took it to the COSMOS, lets go this way.

We haven't still yet discovered our own milky way totally yet.

And, there are many similar Earth like planets which have been found.

They must be having creatures. Thought we don't know if they are smart.

Now Getting To The Logic

We are trying to find aliens.... right?!

But we haven't found one yet.

So, if their were other more intelligent creatures, they certainly would have found us.

And we are still waiting for it and no one still has visited our earth.

Sooooo

We can conclude that...

There might be intelligent creatures in the cosmos, but not that intelligent and advanced.

Maybe like us, lesser than us or greater than us.

So, don't get tensed.

We are not alone in the universe.

I think yes as due to the development of huge telescopes like Hubble which had a sight of 2.3 lightyears many earth like planets have been discovered like - Kepler 69c ,keepler 440b ,K2-18 etc .. we can expect to find simple forms of life . but if this simple life forms like bacteria have developed into complex being like humans due to evolution we may expect to find extraterrestrial life ( aliens ) in the near future .
