Given:-

  • Area = 200 cm²
  • Height = h = 5cm
  • One of the parallel sides = a = 40cm

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Need to find:-

  • Measure of Other parallel side = b =?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Solution:-

We know,

Area of a trapizium = \dfrac{sum \: of \: the \: parallel \:sides \: }{2} \times height

→Area = \dfrac{a + b}{2} \times h

Substitute the values:

200 =  \dfrac{40 + b}{2}  \times 5

 {40 + b} \times 5 = 2\times 200

 {40 + b} \times 5 = 400

→ 40 + b = 400 ÷ 5

→ 40 + b = 80

→ b = 80 - 40

→ b = 40cm

The length of other parallel side is 40cm
