Hello!

Question : Area of a trapezium is 210 m square. If wearing perpendicular distance between the parallel side is 15 metres and one of the parallel side is12 metres find its other parallel side.

Answer :

(Given)

Area = 210 m square
Height = 15 m
Length of 1st parallel side = 12 m
Length of 2nd parallel side = ?

=>Area of a trapezium

\frac {1}{2} × (Sum of parallel sides) × Height

=>According to the Question

\frac {1}{2} × ( a+b ) × h = 210

\frac {1}{2} × (12 + b) × 15 = 210

(12+b) × 15 = 210 × 2

180 + 15b = 420

15b = 420 - 180

15b = 240

b = \frac {240}{15}

b = 16

So, the length of other parallel side is 16 metres.

Hope It Helps!!!
