Step-by-step explanation:

let the length be x

and breadth be y

area of rectangle = 21 sq m

l × b = x × y = 21

perimeter of rectangle is = 20

2(x + y) = 20 \\ x + y =  \frac{20}{2}  = 10 \\ x = 10 - y  \\  \\  area \:  = 21 {m}^{2}  \\ xy = 21 {m}^{2}  \\ (10 - y)y = 21 \\ 10y -  {y}^{2}  = 21 \\   {y}^{2}  - 10y + 21 = 0 \\  {y}^{2}  - 7y - 3y  + 21 = 0 \\ y(y - 7) - 3(y - 7) = 0 \\ (y - 7)(y - 3) = 0 \\ y - 7 = 0 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: y - 3 = 0 \\ y = 7 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: y = 3

as length is more than breadth we take y= 3

x = 10 - y

x = 10 - 3

x = 7

therefore the length of rectangle = 7 m

and breadth of rectangle is = 3 m

hope you get your answer
