Let the length of the rectangle be l and it's breadth be b.

Area =lb

Now,

(l-1)(b-1)=lb-7

lb-l-b+1=lb-7

-l-b=-8-----(1)

Also,

(l+2)(b+1)=lb+13

lb+l+2b+2=lb+13

l+2b=11------(2)

Adding (1) and (2),

b=3 cm

Substituting b=3 in (2),

l+2(3)=11

l+6=11

l=11-6

l=5 cm

Answer:

➡l=5 cm

➡b=3 cm

solution:-

let length be X and breadth be Y

ACQ

(X-1)×(Y-1)=XY+7

XY- X- Y +1=XY+7

X+Y=-6. (1)

second situation

length =X+2

breadth=Y+1

area of rectangle=XY+13

(X+2) (Y+1)=XY+13

XY+X+2Y+4=XY+13

X+2Y=12. (1)

substract equation 1 from second

X+Y=-6.

X+2Y=12

-_ -_____-____

-Y=-18

Y=18

put the value of y in equation 1st

X+Y=-6

- X=-6-18

-24 .
now
X=24 & Y=18
