Answer:

Speed, being a scalar quantity, is the rate at which an object covers distance. The average speed is the distance (a scalar quantity) per time ratio. ... On the other hand, velocity is a vector quantity; it is direction-aware. Velocity is the rate at which the position changes.

Answer:

\red {Given\: that:-}

  • One of the parallel sides = 24cm.

  • Let, the length of the other parallel sides be x cm.

  • Also, Area of the trapezium = 480 cm².

  • Distance between the parallel sides = 8 cm.

\orange {Solution:-}

 \sf Area \: of \: the \: trapezium =  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times (a + b) \times h

 \sf \implies 480 = \cancel \dfrac{1}{2}  \times (24 + x) \times  \cancel8

 \sf \implies \: 480 = (24 + x) \times 8

 \sf \implies 480 = 96 + 4x

  \sf \: \implies 480 - 96 = 4x

 \sf \implies 4x = 384

 \sf \implies x =   \cancel \dfrac{384}{4}

 \sf \therefore x = 96cm
