Given:

The area of the triangle is 84 m sq.

The base of the triangle is 12 m

To find:

The height of the triangle

  • The formula used to find the area of the triangle, when base and height is given-

1/2 *  base * height unit sq.

∴ We can find the value of the height of the triangle by using the formula of the area of the triangle.

⇒ 1/2 * 12 * height = 84

⇒ 6 * height = 84

⇒ height = 84 ÷ 6

⇒ height = 14

∴ Height = 14 m

Hence,

The height of the triangle is 14m.

More Information,

  • When the sides of a triangle are given we can use 'Heron's formula' to find the area of the triangle.

\boxed{\red{\sqrt{S(S-a)(S-b)(S-c)}}} units sq.

Here S = half of the perimeter and a, b, c are the sides of the triangle.
