Arjun is twice as old as shriya. Five years ago his age was three times the age of shriya. Find their present ages

Let Shriya age = x years

Arjun age = 2x years

5 years ago ,
__________

Shriya age = ( x - 5 ) years 

Arjun age = ( 2x - 5 ) years 



according to the problem given ,

2x - 5 = 3 ( x - 5 )

2x - 5 = 3x - 15

- 5 + 15 = 3x - 2x

10 = x

Therefore ,

At present ,

Shriya age = x = 10 years 

Arjun age = 2x = 2 × 10 = 20 years
