then Arjun's age = 2x yrs.

five years ago:-

Shriya's age = x - 5

Arjun's age = 2x - 5

2x - 5 = 3(x-5)

2x-5 = 3x-15

2x-3x = -15+5

-1x = -10

x = -10/-1

x = 10

Shriya's age = x = 10 yrs.

Arjun's age = 2x = 2×10 = 20 yrs.
