Answer:
Explanation:
I partially agree with what you've said. but looking back at the history of army ruling the country, we have a reason to oppose the statement, taking an example of Pakistan would be enough to present our viewpoint. The following happened in Pakistan:
1. In 1991, General Pervez Musharraf led a military coup and overthrew a democratically elected government and declared himself the ‘Chief Executive’ of the country.
2. Later he conducted a referendum which was based on malpractices and fraud. He changed his designation as President in 2002.
3. In August 2002 he issued a ‘Legal Framework Order’ that amended the constitution of Pakistan. According to this Order, the President can dismiss the national or provincial assemblies.
4. The work of the civilian cabinet is supervised by a National Security Council which is dominated by military officers.
5. After passing this law, elected representatives have some powers but the final power rests with military officers and General Musharraf himself.
Moreover, in this modern day, people have the right to choose their electors, but if the army rules the country, it can straightaway be called a dictatorship, the needs of the people can be ignored. these are just few of the possible outcomes that could occur. army is really disciplined and corruption free, no doubt, but we have to keep in mind the possible consequences, main idea of democracy and the people's rights
