Army tanks are provided with caterpillar tracks. What is the reason for this? Let's say mass of the tank is 10,000 kg and Area of caterpillar tracks on the both side is 2000 cm^2 each. Find the pressure applied by the tank on the ground.

Lower the area higher the pressure. If army tanks are provided with less area chain they will sink in the sand. So they are providing with caterpillar tracks.  P=M/A Total area =2000*2=4000 P=10000/4000=5/2=2.5Pascal
