Answer:

Given:

No. of trips through the same path = 2

The speed on the way = 40 km/h

The speed the way back = 60 km/h

To Find:

Average speed

Solution:

Avg. speed =

\frac{sum \ of \ given \ speeds}{no. \ of \ speeds \ given} \\=  \frac{40+60}{2} \\= \frac{100}{2} \\= kmh^{-1}

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

route is of trip Fromm Homme to schhool and school to home

while drving to school =40km/h

while returning speed =60km per hour

L1/40km/h

L2/60km /h

=L1/40,L2/60

t1 first trip

t2 returning trip

T1=L/40

T2=L/60

Total average speed of bus is = 2l/T1+T2

2L= L/40,L/60

2L=1/40and 1/60

2*40*60/100=48m per sec

multiply all and divide by hundread
