(i) Given elements arranged in increasing metallic order as follows.

               F < O < N < C < B < Be < Li

(ii) Decreasing order of non-metallic character is as follows.

            Na > Mg > Al > Si > P > S > Cl

Explanation:

(i)   Metallic character is defined as the ability of an element to lose electron in order to attain stability. More is the size of metallic atom more easily it can lose electron.

Metallic character decreases on moving left to right in a period.

For example, Be, Li, C, B, N, O, F here, Li is most metallic whereas C, N, O, and F are all non-metals. Whereas B is a metalloid.

Therefore, these are arranged in increasing metallic order as follows.

               F < O < N < C < B < Be < Li

(ii)   For the elements Si, Na, Al, Mg, Cl, P, S as these are all period 3 elements so, decreasing order of non-metallic character is as follows.

            Na > Mg > Al > Si > P > S > Cl
