Genotype is the genetic constituents or makeup of an individual. It determines the amount of gene that is required to be expressive to enhance certain physical traits or phenotype.
The term genotype was given by geneticist and physiologist of plant called Wilhelm Johannsen, who was a Danish botanist.
Genotype of an individual is always determined by the dominant allele, that precedes over the recessive allele and hence tall or short, fair or black traits depends on genotypes of both mother and father.
