Qil. The perimeter of a rectangle and a square are same. The length and breadth of the rectangle are 30
cm and 14 em espectively. Find which figure has a greater are and by how much?​

The perimeter of rectangle and square are equal.

The length of rectangle = 30 cm

The breadth of rectangle = 14 cm

The perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b) = 2(30+14) = 2×44 = 88 cm

The perimeter of square = 4×side

88 cm = 4× side

88/4 = side

22 = side

Side of square = 22 cm

Area of rectangle = lb = 30×14 = 420 cm²

Area of square = side² = 22² = 484 cm²

484 cm² > 420 cm²

Area of square > Area of rectangle

So, Area of square - Area of rectangle

484 cm² - 420 cm² = 64 cm²

.°. The square has greater area by 64 cm².
