Answer:

A Bipolar Junction Transistor(BJT) consists of  three layer semiconductor device, namely Emitter, Base and Collector which is formed by sandwiching alternative P and N layers. 

The heavily doped region of the BJT transistor is called  Emitter and it provides majority carriers into the base region. 

And the lightly doped region is called the base which is sandwiched between emitter and the collector
