When considering the size( ionisation) we also look at the charges an element is charged with. In instances of having for example Mg(1s²2s²2p6.3s² and Mg+, the charged Mg+(1s²2s².2p6.3s²3p1 will have a Bigger size that the neutral element..  F,O2,N3,C4
