We have been given the following data:-

12, 4, 6, (-1), (-3)

We are required to arrange it in ascending order.

For the positive values the number with the highest magnitude is the largest.

So, 12>6>4

And for the negative values, the number with the least magnitude is the largest.

So, -1>-3

And positive values are always larger than negative values.

Therefore, the sequence becomes:-

-3 < -1 < 4 < 6 < 12

The largest value here is 12 and the smallest value here is -3.

Their difference is:-

= 12-(-3)

= 12 + 3

= 15

There is difference of 15 marks between them.
