If we arrange the states of matter in increasing order of diffusion we get the following order:

Solid<liquid<gas

REASON:

SOLID: Molecules of a solid are tightly bound to each other

They are not easily separated from each other due to strong intermolecular forces which keep them bonded and do not allow diffusion very easily.

LIQUID: It is somewhat easy for liquid molecules to be displaced and spread out due to moderate intermolecular forces.

GAS: It is extremely easy for gases

To diffuse because they have negligible intermolecular forces and are almost free to move as they please

The states of matter arranged in the increasing order of diffusion are :

Solid < liquid < Gases

Gases have high rate of diffusion .

Reason : Diffusion is the intermixig of one substance with the other substances due to movement of partices .

In gases we have high inter molecular space and they move with greater kinetic eenrgy.

Hence gases have high rate of diffusion compared to soids and liquids.
