Depending on the size and density of the ayoms (solid), Heavier and denser atoms will sink to the bottom while lighter ayomd may remain buoyant (due to microscopic forces acting on them) before eventually settling. for the really small and light atomds, they may remain permanently suspended in the fluid. this is just speaking of a normal liquid and atoms.
There are also classes of suspension called a colloid, where a surfactant is used to ensure a more uniform suspension of the solid in the liquid, mayonnaise is the classical example of a colloid.

atoms are neither soo tightly packed nor soo loosely packed in liquids,they are simply arranged moderately closed which means they can change their shape but can't their volume
